How your credit impacts your finances.
Negative events—such as failure to make payments—can stay on your credit history for up to seven years, during which time you may find it difficult to get credit. If you can get credit, you may have to pay a higher interest rate or be unable to get the amount of credit you want.
In order to maintain a good credit history, simply continue to pay all your bills on time and make re-establishing good credit a top priority.
